Welcome to the UK’s principal directory of highly trained master chimney sweeps registered in your local area.
Findachimneysweep is the UK directory of local master chimney sweeps. Does your chimney need a professional inspection and sweeping? Is there a Jackdaw or other bird’s nest in your chimney? You can really benefit from advice about the efficient use of your fire and fuel – you’ll reduce unnecessary pollution, and save money. It’s easy to find your local sweep in our search directory. All sweeps registered in the Findachimneysweep directory are members of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, the premier trade association in the chimney sweeping industry.
Your local sweep adheres to the professional standards of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. They must follow high industry standards promoted by the Guild. New sweeps complete intensive training and mentoring courses. Existing members are the only sweeps in the UK who are required to undertake mandatory refresher training to update their knowledge of regulations and good practice. Regular chimney maintenance reduces the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and chimney fires. Guild sweeps are passionate about their work because sweeping protects the lives of customers. You can expect your sweep to inspect your chimney and give impartial advice, sweep the chimney with no mess, give helpful advice on safety and the efficient use of your fuel and fire – plus issue a certificate, which can be useful for household insurance. They can save you money and help you keep your family and property safe.
The Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps was formed more than 25 years ago and we work as a community, supporting each other through our national networking platforms. As a ‘not-for-profit’ trade association for professional chimney sweeps, we are the first to see any emerging industry issues. We also report ongoing statistics and alert government authorities and the wider public about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. We promote environmentally-friendly and safe use of fires and fuels and are strong supporters of the BurnRight campaign. Charity fundraising and promotion of these issues helps keep us all safer. The Guild also represents the UK chimney sweeping internationally at the European Federation of Chimney Sweeps.
