Kenilworth welcomes 500 Chimney Sweeps

As well as the best suppliers in the business, here is a full programme of competitions, seminar presentations and awards.

LUCKY or what? This weekend, Fri 28th & 29th February, over 500 chimney sweeps will gather at the Chesford Grange hotel just outside Kenilworth in Warwickshire. They will be visiting the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps annual Trade Exhibition.

Show organiser Steven Howard said: “It’s the largest exhibition of it’s kind with suppliers and companies from every part of the solid fuel industry. It’s not just for sweeps though, the Exhibition is open to all and there is something for anyone involved with chimneys, woodburners, fires and fuels.”

But they don’t just come to meet the suppliers and spend their money. Guild Chairman Lawson Wight said: “Sweeps are a very sociable and highly opinionated bunch. They often work alone so when the opportunity arises to get together, they really go to town.”

Lawson  added: “As well as the best suppliers in the business, here is a full programme of competitions, seminar presentations and awards. There’s a lot happening in our industry so it’s a rare opportunity to discuss recent political developments and showcase future plans. Professional sweeps are always looking to provide better services and advice to their customers and the show is great for sharing ideas, networking and catching up with friends.”

The weekend culminates on the Saturday with over 130 guests at the Gala Dinner followed by the famous charity raffle, disco a few drinks and a great deal of banter.
